I Was Gonna Write About Japan, But....

...then I started reading about the Mt. Everest death zone again.  GAH WHY IS IT SO INTRIGUING???!  We all know I have a morbid fascination with Everest, so I can't resist reddit links.

Line of people climbing the mountain

Trailer for documentary about cleaning up the mountain
(you know, to remove garbage and abandoned dead bodies)

So... until I can focus, here's a few pics:

Summer's End

Well, summer finished quite strong, and the past few weeks months have been awesome.  Let's take a gander:

I found out this is actually a legitimate section at the bookstore.

We stopped for some Hammer Time.

Dylan and I drove To Santa Barbara to get In & Out burgers...

..and visited the Church of Skatan.

There was a Sushi Cam drunkfest that led to LACMA...

..and led to a few nut punchings..(he's ok now)...

...that led to Salsa dancing by a giant art rock.

Dylan and I attended his cousin's very Russian wedding...

There was more dancing and food and vodka than should be legal...(take it away, Boris!)

..and even apple shhhhtrudel.

We saw Lord Huron at MOCA (Sony/ATV represennnt!)

Patrick and I had coffee inside a German minimalist's daydream.

Ramona and I hit up the MTV VMAs in style.

Hospitality lounge hijinks.
Seriously, who offers a footlong breadstick as a 'classy' repast?

Watching outside the venue being broadcast on TV from inside the venue.
A very LA moment.

From a random door.

From our seats.  They were pretty good!

Rihanna

Free drinks (thanks MTV!)

Lookin' fancy.

Wandering back in from hospitality lounge just in time for...ONE DIRECTION!!!
-barf-

We like breadsticks.

We celebrated Christy and Bill's beachy-fun wedding...

..with a beautiful view..

..and beautiful tables...

..and beautiful open bar.

Cheers!!

A new dance was created- The Rock 'Em Sock 'Em.

Pretty Cake!  Pretty Bride!

My birthday surprises started with the most amazing floral arrangement delivered to the office by my very generous husband. (You guys, the card was SOOOO SWEET!)

....and continued with a surprise DT in a PT!!

DT drove and Mona G was the Puuuh Tuuuh navigator extraordinaire.

Look. At. This. Sexy-ass. Whip!

...Next surprise- we ghost rode the PT somewhere east of Downtown while listening to the Birthday Song.
2 CHAAAAAINZ

Wired Turkey cheers!!

An image for the ages.

Slownuts.

Then was birthday foods and friends and cheers at Cole's Downtown..

Yum Babycakes!

O, wut?  Faded at LA CITA!
I was really surprised/ happy/ honored with the party turnout.

There's a lot of pics I can't post on the internet... but here were a few to share!

Cousins were there!

Sony/EMI was there!

Kim was there!!

We were there!
-
-
And every other pic was a drunken, sweaty, disco dancing mess.
We commanded that back patio.

Best.
Birthday.
Ever.

We had recovery brunch the next day.

And then David surprised mom at our birthday dinner!
It was instant tears.

Birthday Girl.

Birthday Weirdo.

Goodbye David brunch the next day.

The birthday girl.

Three amigos.

The yoots.

And then came a series of beach bike rides.

Margot/ Cupeycakey securing the bike stack.

A Perfect day...

...for grillin' and drankin'...

...and emphatically cheersin'...

..and eatin' veggie slaw...

..and finding sand crabs.

It was cold, but still good swimmins.

gratuitious beach pic.

Mona G is at the picnic!

..as is the floppiest sandwich ever.

Relaxin'

Beachin'

It was a good summer.
